What future behavior changes can I expect from my one-year-old cat?

Playful kitten behavior would be more common in a cat this age than true aggression, but it can sometimes be hard to tell the difference! :) In general, there are a few guidelines that can help. Play behavior in cats is virtually always silent, whereas growling and hissing are common with aggressive behavior. Cats who are playing will often crouch down and flatten themselves against the floor before leaping at you (or your other cat). They may also put their ears back and arch their backs, and walk sideways towards you. If it's play, the cats may wrestle, grab each other and chase each other, but there should be no injuries. Usually by 1 all of their adult teeth are in. She is maturing so this can lead to behavioral troubles. Make wiser she has toys and activities to prevent boredom. Some cats like scratching pads while others are happy with card board or a large stick for their claws Just make sure you keep enforcing the rules so she understand what is acceptable

Yes, I think this would be the cat that I would choose. A one year old is not as crazy and playful as a younger kitten and you should already be able to get a good idea of her personality. It is good to choose a laid back and non-threatening cat. No matter who you choose, your male cat will not line it at first. There is always an adjustment period for cats to accept another cat. Hello. While I do not know if there is anything wrong with your cat, it is refreshing to get a request about a healthy one. Georgie is still a very young cat, & perhaps she is sensing something in her environment that just turns her on. Plenty of plants are blooming, so she may be getting a whiff of something like catmint ( similar to catnip ) or she is aware of other cats in the vicinity. It is hard to tell. But there are no diseases or conditions that would be worrisome in a cat this young. It sounds like Cheex-it is quite the character! Yes, this is all normal behavior. Kittens are very hyper active. They do eventually outgrow it. One thing you can do that may help would be to set aside 30 minutes to an hour every day for vigorous play. This will help him to be more calm throughout the day. The only thing I read that is somewhat concerning, is that he urinates on things. This could become a problem and may indicate a medical issue. It sounds like Cali is exhibiting signs of stress in her home environment. There are many things that you can do to help alleviate stress and help her feel better. I would advise seeing your veterinarian to rule out any medical causes for her behaviour first, and also make sure her environmental needs are being met. Cats need at least one litterbox per cat plus one extra to help reduce stress associated with the litterbox. They should be placed in separate rooms, away from the food and water bowls, must be scooped at least daily (preferably multiple times a day)and washed out at least weekly with a mild soap, followed by thorough rinsing. Cats need a lot of space to explore, but keeping them indoors is much safer than letting them outside, due to the risk of injury from cars, wildlife, other animals, etc. The key is providing space (particularly vertical space for clinimbg, such as cat trees, ledges, and the like) inside the home.
