Why does my older cat have skin lumps, runny nose, and a broken tooth?

Without images it is very difficult to assess what may be going on. It would be worthwhile getting a second opinion but a tumour in the mouth or sinuses may well be affecting the drainage from her eyes or nose and may be contributing to the signs you can see, an the smell you describe is likely related to an infection or damaged tissue. A sedated oral exam and xrays or CT scan would help to investigate everything that may be happening, including tear production and drainage which may be contributing to the crusts and blood shot eyes

I'm sorry to hear that your cat isn't doing terribly well. There are several different possibilities here. One is that his weight loss is completely unrelated to the masses. As cats get older, they're more likely to develop conditions like hyperthyroidism or kidney disease, which can lead to weight loss. While neither of these conditions can be "cured," both can be managed to some degree with certain medications or diet. The other possibility is, as you mentioned, that these masses could be cancerous. I completely understand not wanting to pursue extensive treatment for cancer, but before making the assumption that it is cancer, I'd try to get some more information. For starters, I think it's perfectly reasonable to take your cat to the vet for an exam and some bloodwork to check his organ function. There's a chance that your vet may find something that's not terribly difficult to manage, but you don't know unless you look. I would expect that your vet would recommend trying to diagnose the masses in order to be thorough, but if you are clear that you don't want to look into them further, it shouldn't be an issue. At the end of the day, you own your cat and are responsible for making choices for him. Your vet's job is to present those choices to you and help you to find the approach that works best for you and your cat. I hope this helps and that everything goes well.

Hi Your cat may seem fine, but even so, you should have a veterinarian check it out. There's no way to know what's going on by just seeing or feeling it. It could be an abscess, a mild trauma, or a more serious problem. The vet will preform a fine needle aspiration to take a sample for analysis and diagnosis.

There is no way of knowing for sure without an examination though this represents a reason to seek veterinary care. This is usually determined with an examination and a fine needle aspirate (FNA) or a biopsy. Treatment depends on the findings up to that point. These hard bumps on Lucy could be cysts, benign tumors, or malignant tumors. Any suspicious bumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on them. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the bump to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. I would have Lucy seen by a vet for these bumps. I would also recommend having a geriatric blood panel and urinalysis done on her. That's to check how her organs are functioning, and if there are any concerning health problems that may be underlying.

This might need to be removed surgically, the best way to find out is to take her to the vet, they will aspirate a small sample with a syringe and needle from the lump, then they will send it to the lab to find out if the tumor is cancerous or benign. if it is cancerous it will need to be removed for sure, but even if it is benign, due to the symptom it causes, your vet might advise surgical removal.

Your picture is a bit blurry but I would worry that this might be a tumor. A nasal polyp or fungal infection might cause an ulcer and nose bleeds as well. I would recommend seeing your veterinarian to have Fatcat examined.
