My cat peeing less after spay, is her bladder recovering well?
Hello. I am so sorry that no one has addressed your question sooner. It is difficult to predict how the accidental tear in Belladonna's urinary bladder will affect her in the future. Most bladder tears, or cuts from incisions, heal very well, & very quickly, so I really do not expect there to be long term problems. However, I am a little alarmed that your veterinarian did not disclose that the urinary bladder was nicked during her spay surgery. That sends up a bit of a red flag about their ethics. As long as Belladonna is urinating, I would not be as concerned about the volume as most likely she is adequately emptying her bladder. But if there are future concerns, you might want to have her seen by another veterinary clinic, just to get a second opinion. Thanks for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
