My old cat is lethargic, not eating, and still sick after vet.

If Willow did not have her blood tested when she was in for her exam I would highly recommend having the vet pull a blood sample and check to see if she has any abnormal values. Kidney disease is something we quite commonly see in older cats and this certainly could be the cause of the vomiting / decreased appetite. The sooner her blood is tested the better and the faster you will know what is going on with her. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. If he does, even if you can't find one right now I would be concerned that he suffered a bite of some kind, as cats can develop abscesses fairly easily when they suffer a trauma. I would be concerned by his behavior, as it does sound like there may be an underlying issue going on, such as an infection, GI upset, or an underlying medical issue (such as kidney disease or diabetes). If he doesn't perk up, start eating and getting some energy back, I would recommend he be evaluated by his regular veterinarian to determine the underlying cause for his change in behavior, have any necessary testing done (xrays, bloodwork) and start any treatment he may need to resolve it. Hi and thank you for your question on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I am sorry Ickle is having these issues- sounds like there is a lot going on with him.. It is hard to say what exactly is causing Ickle's symptoms without examining him first, but these symptoms could point to advanced stage kidney disease which is very common in cats and can cause lethargy, anemia, and inappetence as toxins that should be normally filtered by the kidneys build up in the body. Kidneys make a substance that stimulated red blood cell production so when the kidney function in compromised, this substance is not made as much as can cause anemia. Another possibility may be liver disease or certain cancers. A simple blood test can be determine what organ(s) are not functioning well so the appropriate treatments can be given. Based on what you are describing, I would recommend she be taken back in to be re-evaluated and have further diagnostics or treatment done. Cats can only go so long without eating before developing liver issues, so we are always concerned when cats aren't eating. I would recommend Socks be re-evaluated by her veterinarian, have any further necessary testing done (xrays, bloodwork, ultrasound) to determine what the underlying cause for her issue is, and start any treatment that may be needed to help her feeling back on track. Loss of appetite and diarrhea can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Otto evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I’m so sorry to hear about Quavo. I would say if he is not improving, it’s time for more testing. Bloodwork and/or X-rays may give us a better idea of what’s going on. X-rays look for things like large heart, severe arthritis, and (heaven forbid) obvious cancer. Bloodwork will indicate kidney and liver function, diabetes, and infection in some cases. I do also agree with treating for pain. Many times pain looks exactly like what you describe so definitely give the pain medication as directed. An arthritis “flare up” can cause pretty debilitating pain and is high on my list if Quavo is 10 or more. Best wishes to you and Quavo!

Hello. Unfortunately, the symptoms you describe are pretty vague & can really fit with a lot of things. I do not know how much veterinary care is available in your country, or even what diseases are present, but it sounds like Poufpouf needs antibiotics at the least, & then have some diagnostic bloodwork done, too. This might include a complete blood count, serum chemistry analysis, urinalysis & tests for feline leukemia & aids. This is what I would recommend if you lived in the US.
