My rescued kitten has strange paw pads and a cold. Should I see a vet?

Poor Girl! This could be an auto-immune disease or something called eosinophilic granuloma complex. You could try some balm called snout smoother on it to see if it makes a difference. If not, I would have your vet take a look as this could get worse if left untreated. Your vet make have to put her on some antibiotics or even some steroids to help it heal. I hope this helps!

It is hard to tell by the picture. I would recommend taking him to a vet to have it looked at since it smells. Odor can be a sign of infection and need antibiotics. It is also possible he has pillow feet This is were the paw pads tear and bleed.

What an adorable baby. I agree that she looks really young (about a week). Her paw pads don't look blistered at this time, but it is hard to tell from a picture. If she burned her paw pads, they will start to blister and peel. If that is the case, please seek care from a veterinarian. Check her paw pads a couple of times a day to make sure they look healthy. Hopefully you got to her quickly enough that it won't be a problem. Unfortuantely, I don't think there is anything you can do at this point, but wait and see what happens. I hope that helps. The area looks red and swollen and I'm concerned the area may be infected. It could there is a foreign body in there causing the infection, Mochi may have injured herself, or it could be a growth but not too likely in a kitten her age. Without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain. You need to have her seen by a vet to have this diagnosed and treated. I'd see if you can take her into a vet this weekend, or Monday. If Gray is still able to move well and not in pain, then I would let it go without treatment. Cats (and dogs) do well on 3 limbs if necessary but if he’s in pain it needs to be addressed. Poor kitty, that looks a bit painful in the pictures. My biggest concern here is the smell you are describing. This smell could be due to infection, but without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain. I do think the best thing to do is have her seen by a vet. If the nail is infected, then the vet can prescribe pain medication. Give her vet a call now to make her an appointment. I hope this helps.

Yes, I would recommend a vet check up. It might just be a skin infection that will benefit from a good clean and possibly antibiotics treatment. It is best that a vet checks it though in case there is anything caught in the paw itself that needs to be removed. Hope this helps !
