My 6-week-old kitten is very sleepy, not eating, and peeing little.

Given her age there are several things that cross my mind, but a common issue in these young kittens is parasites. Sometimes their parasite burden can be so high that they cannot maintain adequate glucose levels, and also can become uninterested in food and sometimes will begin vomiting. I would recommend deworming her. Also, it would be important to rule out signs of infection and/or sepsis. I think she needs to be seen by a veterinarian right away. Such a young and small animal can deteriorate quickly even with easy to resolve issues like gastrointestinal parasites.

It is normal for kittens to play really hard and then sleep really hard. At this age I expect them to sleep more than play. This changes as they get a little older. If she is eating at least 1/2 cup of food a day, she may be just getting full and realizes she doesn't have to eat it all at once and this is also okay. Sometimes kittens will graze on grass and plants out of curiosity. Just make sure you don't have an toxic plants in your house/yard. BUT if you think she is eating less than this and doesn't play much at all and you think she is getting weak then I would see your vet for an exam. She may have something else going on like an infection or parasites that needs to be addressed. Your vet will be able to do a fecal and possibly bloodwork if needed. I hope this helps!

It sounds like he is getting sick. Without additional clinical signs it is hard to say exactly what is causing his lethargy and decreased appetite but he could be starting with a respiratory virus or a gastrointestinal virus. He could also have parasites that need to be treated. If it continues than he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. Your vet can run lab work to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat. If he is unvaccinated, please discuss a vaccine plan with your vet once he has recovered from this illness.

Kittens can sleep a lot, but if she is very listless I would be worried that she is ill and should be seen by a veterinarian right away. Starvation and dehydration can very quickly cause a kitten to go downhill which could be why she is so lethargic and requires medical care. She may also be younger than you suspect and still need additional care. Kittens are susceptible to many different infections, both viral & bacterial. A heavy parasite burden from coccidia, or roundworms can also wear a kitten down & leave it weak. Pascal is too young & small to try & fight this off on his own. He needs to be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. If you can not have him seen tonight or tomorrow, pick up some Nutrical from Petco tomorrow, & try to give him small amount frequently throughout the day. This is a high calorie supplement to hopefully keep his energy up. Then please try to have him seen by your veterinarian as early as possible on Monday. I hope he does better soon. Poor Chinu! The problem is that he cannot talk tell you why this is happening. It sounds like he is not feeling well. Just like humans, pets can become ill due to a number of causes. I recommend to have Chinu examined by his veterinarian today to start figuring out what is wrong. Only a physical examine can start to narrow down the reasons. Bring in a fresh stool sample as well in case the doctor wants to test for parasites. I hope they figure it out quickly and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Not all deworming medications treat all intestinal parasites. If negative, I would have both cats tested for feline leukemia and FIV. These are infectious diseases that could cause poor growth.
