What's causing my kitten's dry skin patch above his eyebrow?

I can't quite tell from the picture but based on your description one thing I would consider would be a fungal infection (ringworm). This is fairly common in kittens. Another possibility is a bacterial skin infection. I would make An appointment with your veterinarian so they can take a look at dusky's skin. There are very simple tests for ringworm if that is a concern for them (they can look at skin with a black light as a screen and can collect fur for a fungal culture) and they can prescribe medication as indicated. It is hard to say exactly what the cause of Onyx's skin condition may be without examining Onyx first, but red hairless lesions around the face and head are suspicious of a fungal infection or perhaps mites. I am sorry to hear about Onyx. I would wonder with the change in location if this could be allergy related. We can sometimes see irritation/inflammation around the eyes due to allergies. We can also see this with some mites, bacterial or viral infections, or autoimmune diseases. I would recommend an examination by a veterinarian to try to pinpoint the underlying cause. They can then prescribe either oral or topical medications depending on what they determine the cause of the hair loss to be. Best of luck to you and Onyx!

These skin lesions look like bacterial or possibly fungal infection. Mites can be responsible for it as well. A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics may be needed. There could be a few things that may have caused these spots on Beans. From the picture, it looks like it may be infected. You can apply a thin layer of Neosporin twice a day, but if it isn't better in a couple days, you should see a vet for additional medications. Possible initial causes for the irritation include mites, fleas, ringworm, a reaction to topically applied medications, or a wound caused by another cat. If you see Beans scratching this area with his back paws, it means it is very itchy - try to prevent him from further damaging the skin by covering the area with a small pet or baby shirt, or you can try to put socks on his feet.

This is probably caused by an allergic reaction. first of all make sure you de-flea Sweep regularly every month with a high quality spot on (ex. Advantage) as fleas are by far the most common reason for these reactions. If the fleas are not the problem, it could be an allergic reaction to food or an environmental factor. this is more complicated to treat and will sometimes require medications such as Steroids, anti histamines or cyclosporin in order to stop the allergy.

This looks like a ringworm infection. Kittens do get ringworm especially if they have been sick. You should take her to your veterinarian for a diagnosis and treatment. This isn’t an emergency though so you can wait until next week. This can spread to people so please wash your hands after handling her.
