Is my immobile cat's diet of baby food and Pedialyte healthy?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 7 lbs

Friend has severe CH immobile. Feeds him citrus favoured pedalyte and Gerber baby rice with a little cat food no supplements. He looks like he's dying. Is this nutritionally enough or good for him?

Poor kitty! No, this would not be a nutritionally complete diet for cats - he needs to be eating a commercial cat food to provide the nutrients he needs. If your friend is syringe-feeding him, he should use a canned cat food that is soft enough to pass through the syringe.
