Why is my diabetic cat lethargic and not eating after Cosequin?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | 13 lbs

Hello, i have an older cat whom i just found out is diabetic. I just started her on cosequin and now she's very lethargic, hasnt eaten, but will drink water. Is there any way a couple of doses of cosequin could cause her to act this way?

No, the Cosequin is probably not the reason for her symptoms; that is a very benign supplement. It is more likely that her blood sugar is not regulated correctly. I suggest you get Mehe to your vet for a follow-up exam. If she is not on insulin, she may need it. If she is on insulin, the dose may need to be adjusted.
