My cat is diabetic. What protein, fiber, carb percentages should his food have?

Hello, I just found out my 12 yr old male cat is diabetic. What percentage of protein, fiber,& carbs should I be looking for in the food I integrate into his care plan? My vet is not being specific....

High protein. low carb diets such as royal canin diabetic or hills m/d are very effective in helping to regulate blood sugar and oreventing glucose spikes in diabetics. If underweight, a highly digestible intestinal diet can also be helpful until body condition is restored.
