My cat has wounds. What vet treatment and cost should I expect?

I am very sorry to hear about Sottey. She definitely needs to be seen by a vet to have the wounds addressed. The vet will remove the maggots from the wounds (may do this manually, or with special drugs) and then clean the wound. Often these wounds have dead tissue that needs removal. The wounds then may be left open or closed with a drain depending on the size and antibiotics and pain medication will be prescribed. We often check bloodwork for underlying disease as well to be sure the pet isn't systemically ill. The cost of this will depend on your vet and the area you live in.

Poor cat! There are no photos attached so I can't see what this wounds look like but I can say that if there is pus, it's infected. Antibiotic ointment may not by enough to treat it and Collic possibly will need a course of antibiotic in form of tablets to get back to normal. I would recommend Collic to be checked over by your local vets to fully assess the wound and to recommend the best treatment option.

I understand your predicament. I think this will heal if you just continue to keep the wounds clean and moist. I don't know what was previously recommended but I would suggest this spray. But with oral antibiotics and medications you got from the vet he should heal OK. He definitely must see a vet as he needs an antibiotic injection, i can't recommend any home treatment in this case i'm afraid, it would be irresponsible from my part. If money is an issue please contact a cat charity in your area of living, they can help with costs of treatment in many cases. Poor Claws! I don't think you should let that heal without treatment and should take him to a vet. Your vet can clean the wound and then suture it so it heals properly. He will also need an antibiotic to prevent infection.

Costs depend on your area as all veterinary hospitals set their own prices. The wound likely got infected. Bite or scratch wounds from another animal often become infected and need medical attention. Another potential cause would be if Baldy is able to lick at it. The bacteria in his mouth and the constant irritation will make it difficult for that wound to heal. Good luck !
