My cat has worms, pale gums, and is tired. Is a vet visit urgent?

Hi! So sorry to hear that Paris is not feeling well. It sounds like Paris is anemic based on the color of her gums and the fact that she does not feel well which means that she is clinically affected. I recommend that you have Paris evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible to figure out what is wrong and start therapy for it. At the very least, she could have bloodwork done to see if she truly is anemic and go from there. Keeping my fingers crossed that evrything goes well!!

Oh that does not sound good. Throwing up so much warrants an urgent visit to the veterinarian and some blood tests checking kidney and thyroid parameters. Pale gums could point to a blood disease. Hello, sorry to hear about Juju. Most of the time, those are tape worms that are contracted from fleas. Juju needs to get dewormed and be treated for fleas so that you can have the best chance to rid the infection. Unfortunately, deworming medications can be obtained from your veterinarian. Fortunately, it does not tend to be an expensive medication. I would call your veterinarian and ask if they do deworming appointments or if they require a full physical exam. I'm sorry to hear that Sabbath is so sick. Pale gums, lethargy, and a fast heart rate may be signs of anemia, or a low red blood cell count. This could be due to a flea infestation, infectious diseases, or cancer. Sabbath really must be seen by a vet. Aside from treating a flea infestation at home (if one exists), there really isn't anything you can do at home to manage clinical signs this severe. Try to ask your vet if they accept payment plans or have other financing options available.

I would call off to take Lydia. There are other causes to diarrhea including GI illness, eating something rotten, or a foreign body to name a few, so you can't be sure if her diarrhea is caused by worms or not unless she sees the vet. In addition, diarrhea can cause dehydration and a cat should always see a vet when they have had diarrhea for longer than 24 hours. I would keep the Thursday appointment. I hope this helps!

Julius likely also needs to be wormed. In order to make sure he is ok I suggest you take him to your vet for an exam. You say he has white gums: this is a sign of anemia which would be the reason for him to be so tired. Make sure you feed him a good quality kitten food, and get a flea preventive medication for him to kill all the fleas on him as well as in his environment. If he is at least 5 weeks old you can use frontline spray. On the photos I can also see that he has discharge from the eyes which may point to an upper respeiratory infection. Your vet can help with that as well with some antibiotics, if indicated.

Pale gums is a sign of anemia, and losing hair is a sign of itching. If Joker has a heavy flea infestation, that would cause him to become anemic and lose hair. I would catch him, and take him into a vet today. Anemia is serious and needs to be treated right away. The vet can determine if it is fleas causing the anemia and hair loss, or if there is another cause, and treat him appropriately.
