My cat has a white spot near her eye. Should I worry if she's fine?

Gently try to wipe the eye to see if that is just some discharge. If it does not come out, it may be a mass and she should see her veterinarian. If it is discharge, as long as she seems normal, you may monitor her for a few days to see if this is a one time thing. If it progresses or worsens, have her seen by her veterinarian. What a beautiful face! It almost looks like this might simply be an "eye booger," so blink her eyes and see if it moves. If it moves, you can use a wet cotton ball and wipe her eye, this should wipe it away. If its not moving when she blinks, and its adhered to the cornea (front surface of the eye), as long as she isn't pawing at it or squinting like she's painful and as long as she's otherwise acting normally, just make an appointment at your convenience. If it seems to bothering her, though, get her in more urgently. If she's pawing at it at all, put an Ecollar on her to prevent her from causing damage to her eye. It very well could be a scratch. If he is also squinting his eye and develops eye discharge then this is definitely a corneal scratch. However if he doesn’t seem bothered by it and the eye is clear otherwise, it may be a pigment or old scar on the corneal surface. If he becomes symptomatic then have your vet examine him and do a confirmatory eye test so that he can be prescribed antibiotic eye ointment to help this scratch heal. It doesn't look too bad in the picture. Poppy may have injured herself by rubbing her face against something in the home. I would keep an eye on it for now. if it gets bigger or appears infected (redness, swelling, warm to the touch, pus), then have her seen by a vet. I hope this helps!

A blurry spot can mean that you pet either has a scar on the cornea or it could indicate a corneal ulcer, depending on how this looks. There is also the potential it could be nuclear sclerosis, if it is a deeper opacity that you are seeing. Please submit a photo of the eye in question for clarification on what this likely is, or have your vet do a physical exam to confirm. If it is a corneal ulcer, it needs to be confirmed with an eye test through your veterinarian and then treated with medication. Corneal ulcers however cause excessive blinking and eye discharge. Nuclear sclerosis is common in older cats, and I'm not sure how old your cat is, but they don't require any treatment.. And corneal scars are basically scarring from a previous corneal injury, which typically are permanent and don't require treatment. I wish you the best moving forward with your fur baby. Take care.

Brittany is beautiful! It is common that cats will have color changes in the iris (the colored part of the eye) that will appear darker or almost like a freckle. If your vet has examined Brittany and told you that it is nothing to worry about, then I would just monitor it. It should not change appearance over time or appear to be getting thicker.
