Wheezing in cats can be caused by chronic allergies, asthma, infections, and polyps. However, if you believe that Ashes is having trouble breathing, she should be seen by a vet immediately as she may need oxygen supplementation and stabilization. I hope this helps and that all is well!

Open mouth breathing is always an emergency situation in a cat. Cat breath with open mouth because of heart or airways disease, they can pant because of stress, pain, asthmatic attacks. You should keep Ash in cool, well ventilated room for now and please, try and get her seen by your nearest open vet as soon as possible.
