My cat is throwing up, weak, and not eating. Should I go to the vet?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 11 months and 6 days old | 16 lbs

My cat is normally playful n happy I went camping came home and now she is throwing up clear gel looking stuff its coming out of both ends she is drinking but not eating and acting like she cant stand up she will move a few feet and flop back down and meow what's going on should I take her to the vet the only thing out of the norm is she caught her first bird n ate it 2 days ago but ate one half and then ate the other the next day

Hi there.

With what you're describing, Sabrina should be seen by a vet ASAP. Vomiting can occur for several reasons, such as pancreatitis, intestinal blockage, viruses, etc. However, because she's vomiting and falling over, it does sound like she has something serious going and and she needs veterinary care.

Ruby is very ill and has to see a vet immediately. It's not normal at all for a cat to vomit that much consistently, and it's serious that she vomits when she eats. There could be a number of things causing it such as a pyometra, a foreign body, kidney or liver disease, or even cancer. This is not something that can be treated at home or can wait until the morning. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

I would be worried about Princess as vomiting five time in under an hour is a lot of vomiting. It's also concerning that her appetite has gone down in the past couple of days as well. In a senior cat, this could be caused by a GI illness, a foreign body, pancreatitis, or something more serious such as kidney failure, liver disease, diabetes, or even cancer. Given the amount of times she has vomited in such a short period of time, I would have her seen by a vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Best of luck!

Vomiting can occur from many conditions such as kidney disease, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have Peaches evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This will likely require bloodwork and abdominal imaging in terms of diagnostics. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least your veterinarian could start him on medications to make him feel better. In the meantime, keep water available at all times to try to prevent dehydration. Good luck and have a good day!

Oh my. Poor cat. These signs are very concerning in a cat. They could mean a number of things could be going on including an infection, kidney disease, or liver disease just to name a few. I would highly recommend taking Rosita in to your local vet right away for diagnostic testing so that we can identify the underlying problem quickly and get her some treatment to help stabilize her. My cat is throwing up daily, not eating, and very weak. Is it serious?

It sounds as Snoozy is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

My cat is vomiting bile, not eating, and lethargic. Is it a vet emergency?

It's really difficult to know for sure without being able to examine her. Given that she hasn't eaten for two days and is lethargic and vomiting, I have to recommend that she be seen by a vet as soon as possible. This could indicate a severe disease, or toxin ingestion.
