Cat's tail has raw, bleeding wounds, pus, and hair loss. What's wrong?

I'm not sure how serious it is but it needs to be treated ASAP, he will probably need systemic antibiotics. You have to take him to the vet, if you can't afford it contact a cat charity in your area of living and they should be able to help.

It sounds like Cocoa has one or two abscesses....which are deep pockets of infection. Most of the time these are caused by fight wounds in cats, but there can be other causes such as impacted anal sacs. Cocoa is going to need to see your veterinarian to get a prescription antibiotic to resolve the infection. Your vet will also clean the wounds and if this is too painful, she may require some sedation. Please try to get her to your vet as soon as you can.

Poor Missy! Given that this area is now spreading, yes it is necessary to take her into the vet. I understand it may be hard on her, but I would be concerned she has an infection if it's spreading. What you're describing sounds more likely to be a skin problem of some kind (allergies, etc.) vs. an actual wound or something more serious, although of course it's always hard to say without being able to see her in person. It does sound like this is something that should be seen by a vet, since skin issues in cats that are severe enough to cause hair loss and raw spots will virtually always need prescription meds to treat effectively. But if she's acting normal otherwise (eating and drinking, relatively active, no other obvious symptoms), then I wouldn't consider it to be an emergency. It should be okay to call your regular vet's office and get an appointment scheduled for her when you're able to, hopefully within the next week or two. :)

It looks like a burst abscess but it could also be an ulcerated tumor, i strongly advise taking her to the vet today in order to get it checked and treated, she will need an antibiotic injection at the very least in order to heal from this.

I would strongly recommend taking her to your vet as she will need to have an antibiotic injection to prevent an infection from surely happening. the are should be clipped and clean as much as possible but a course of antibiotics is crucial.
