Cat's tail not moving after vet visit? Sedation or injury?

I would monitor her for the next 24 hours and if the vomiting worsens I would take her back in but if she does not vomit but is lethargic and weak, this should resolve. I hope this helps! The loss of feeling in the tip of the tail may be permanent if there was some damage to the nerves but it should not affect her overtly. If there was nerve damage that could still resolve over time once the inflammation decreases. I would not be too concerned about it after just three days as long as the tissue looks healthy (no wounds, no odor, no discoloration). Hope this helps. It could be Lana has injured her tail. Keep an eye on her tonight and if she is still acting this way in the morning, have her seen by a vet. Please do not give her any human pain medications, as many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. I hope this helps!

I would be concerned if the area is painful or she cannot hold the tail in a normal position as it may be injured or broken. It would be best to bring your cat to a vet ASAP to have the area examined, X-rayed for any breaks, and checked for any nerve or other injuries causing it.

This usually happens when they have lower spine pain and/or had a tail-pull injury. Cats can get their tails caught in things (i.e. under tires, fences) and tend to struggle a lot, which can cause further injury to the muscles, ligaments and nerves. These types of injuries tend to heal well over a few weeks. You can apply ice to the area fro 15 minutes twice a day to help take down the inflammation. It's best to take Oberin to a veterinarian in order to get pain medication and an accurate diagnosis of the problem,. I hope that helps and Oberin gets better soon.

When a cat is holding their tail lower or not able to move it around normally it can indication an issue with the sacrum, an injury to the tail, or even a neurologic issue. If Dora seems to be acting otherwise normally (eating and drinking normally, walking normally and without a limp or stiffness, not hiding, still grooming, using the litter box normally) it may be okay to wait until tomorrow. However, this could be a sign of pain and heat can be from inflammation or infection. If you are concerned that Dora is in pain it may be worth it to make a trip to the emergency veterinarian for peace of mind. And certainly if Dora is not walking normally, not eating or drinking or having trouble urinating or defecating you should definitely see a veterinarian tonight. It sounds like she may have injured her tail or pelvis, possibly from an accident or bite. If this continues beyond 12hours or she develops any fever or additional pain you should have her checked by your vet
