My cat died suddenly after seizure. Was it his heart murmur or cold?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 4 years and 5 months old | 12.5 lbs

My cat died suddenly after a seizure. He had a cold I let go untreated for few weeks . Could this have caused it ? He also had a heart mur mur but I can’t help but to take blame For it because I should have taken him

I'm so sorry you lost your cat so suddenly!

An upper respiratory infection would not typically cause seizures. An upper respiratory infection can occasionally cause pneumonia or severe dehydration that could be life threatening but you would probably see other signs like trouble breathing or extreme lethargy. A heart murmur may or may not be related to underlying heart disease, but if there was heart disease present it could potentially lead to a seizure and sudden death. If he died recently you could consider taking him to your vet for a post mortem exam (autopsy) to try to determine what the cause may have been, but it can be difficult to know for certain.
