My cat is stressed and not nursing her kittens. What's wrong?

I would leave her alone as much as possible. It will already be stressful for her to be inside, and visiting Cali a lot will make her more stressed. I would give her a nesting box to lay in, and only go in once a day to fill her food bowl and water bowl.

Being a new mom is a lot of work! She will likely adjust pretty quickly. However, there is a product called Feliway. It is a plug in diffuser or spray. Hi, thanks for using Petcoach! I am sorry that you are going through this! It is common for mother cats to move their kittens, especially if stressed and they feel that their kittens are at risk. I wold try to leave her be and try not to stress her. You can check on the babies once-twice a day. Her laying on them is some what normal. Unfortunately there is no way for me to tell based on the picture if the kitten will survive. Sadly some kittens don't make it and we don't know why. It is called "fading kitten syndrome." If Tinkiee left him/her behind she may know it is sick. You can try to hand raise the kitten by bottle feeding it with Kitten Mild Replacer (KMR). You have to bottle feed it every 3 hours and stimulate it to urinate and defecate by gently wiping it's anus and genitals with warm wash cloth after feedings. Below is a link to the milk replacer. I would completely separate Ciki from the other kittens. Their mother needs to care for them, and it's not right that Ciki is preventing the other mother from having access to them. I would put that mother and her kittens into a room away from Ciki so that mother can care for her kittens properly. Good luck!

I would put Mamma in her own room with the kittens and give them as much space as possible. Make sure she has food, water, and a litter box. Check on them only once a day to make sure things are going well with her and her kittens. It sounds like you may be a bit of a distraction for her, so leaving her alone with the kittens and having them be her only focus may help with this situation. I hope this helps!
