Is it safe to spay my kitten 48 hours after deworming for worms?

Hello, the deworming medication is safe to give prior to surgery as it does not directly interact with the common anesthetics. However, the deworming medication may cause diarrhea and an upset stomach. This can add stress at the time of surgery and perhaps cause a poor appetite post surgery. If you'd like to be completely safe, you can separate the both, however, your kitten should be fine to have both procedures done so close to one another. Hope this helps and best of luck.

The best thing you can do is make sure she is not over weight. Also, when she is spayed, she will need to be separated from any kittens so that they do not injure the incision. I recommend to discuss your concerns with your veterinarian. Things that help a procedure recover if an emergency arises are to make sure bloodwork is done prior to the surgery, that she has an intravenous catheter placed prior to the procedure and that she receives intravenous fluids during the procedure. These will help to keep her safe. Just like human medicine, all sedative procedures have some risk but the vast vast majority of people and pets will do fine. You may consider interviewing a few veterinarians to ask about their protocols and safety record. It's always be to be informed. If she eats and drinks normally and just vomited once I think it is safe to take her in for surgery, However I would call your veterinarian to find out whether he thinks it is ok, as he is the one that is responsible for the outcome of the surgery. However, since it is night now in India, I realize you cannot call now, so make sure you tell the vet that she vomited once when you bring her in, or ring the vet in the morning.

Luci can be spayed anytime. The main concern with spaying a cat that has just had a litter of kittens is if the kittens are still nursing and have developed mammary tissue. This extra tissue can increase the risk of an infection at the incision site. If she is not nursing kittens, the mammary tissue decreases and is no longer an issue. I would go ahead and schedule her to get spayed asap!

I usually do not recommend using Praziquantel in lactating mother cats, Pyrantel Pamoate is usually fine and they can be dewormed from around 4 weeks of age. flea treatment can be given as soon as 2 days of age-- the ONLY safe product is Frontline spray.

Yes it ia sbsolutely ok to treat her for fleas. I would use a spot on such as Advantage or frotnline Plus or similar spot ons. and you can get some Pyrantel Pamoate from your veterinarian to worm her (it is a liquid, that does not taste terrible) or a Drontal for cats tablet.

If Naomi still is full of milk, there is potentially more risk of bleeding and/or infection. We generally recommend that kittens be kept away from mom and not allowed to nurse for at least 2 weeks before the mom is spayed.
