My cat got soap in eye. Why is her eye sensitive and won't open?

my cat got soap in her eye when getting bathed I flushed it out with bottled water and now she keeps rubbing it and its sensitive to light her eye also won't stay open

It can stay irritated for several hours or even 24 hours sometime, you will have to monitor it during this time but by tomorrow it should get better, if it doesn't take her to the vet in order to get it treated.
