Additionally, the dexamethasone may help minimize some inflammation, but is likely to delay any healing. Ultimately, your best option is to establish a care protocol with Bugger's vet since I don't know the extent of this lesion nor its location. I'm very sorry Shu has mammary cancer. Unfortunately, no this won't help with the lesion, and she will likely just try to lick off the spray on bandage. That's a complicated recommendation to give, especially since we don't know the type of cancer. It is possible that local excision could be curative. It is also possible that after local excision and a diagnosis from histopathology, we find that amputation is needed. In my opinion solely based on the pictures, I would probably remove the tumor and not try to get aggressive clean borders and wait to see what the tumor is before doing anything more drastic.

Hello, there aren't any approved veterinary products, but you could find some at a local petstore. Cats that have white are more prone to developing skin cancer, however the incidence of this is very low especially in indoor cats. Unfortunately it sounds like a very aggressive tumor and it is not likely to heal, for open wounds i usually like to use Green clay, i apply it on the wound 2-4 times a day but in this case i am not sure it will help.

Although quite safe on superficial wounds, cats groom and ingest most of the topical ointment you apply and therefore should be used only under direct veterinary supervision and if there are no other appropriate options. Many human ointments contain multiple other ingredients which are not necessarily safe to be swallowed. It's great that you've gotten a collar to keep her from licking at the scab! Keep an eye on it while it's healing, and if the area becomes red, swollen, warm to the touch, or has pus, then I would have Napa seen by a vet for antibiotics to treat it.
