My cats are sick after flea spray. Could it be permethrin poisoning?

You did exactly the right thing by washing off Odin and Toby right away. Continue to monitor them, and if you see any additional signs of toxicity such as muscle tremors, vomiting, diarrhea, depression and incoordination, I would take them into an ER vet right away. Otherwise, I would have them both examined by a vet in the morning to be safe.

Yes, permethrine is toxic to cats, and even small amounts can cause severe and fatal poisoning. Do not put this on Rowena or anywhere near her. If she has fleas, I would get a flea treatment from your vet to treat them. Remember you will have to disinfect the environment at well. Wash her bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house, such as Indorex, or a flea bomb would work well to kill the fleas in the home. I hope this helps!

Yes, Sentry products are not recommended. If you need flea prevention you should get it from your vet. My recommendation would be to try and wash off that medication ASAP. Use Dawn dishsoap to wash the cats since it will cut through the oils in the skin. Be sure to rinse them thoroughly and dry them with towels (not hair dryers). These flea collars are extremely toxic and one should not use them anymore. Tetrachlorvinphos toxic to the nervous system and likely to cause cancer. The collar could indeed have caused these signs in your kitty. There are quite a few flea and tick medications on the market, such as spot-ons that are not detrimental to the health of your cat. Here are safe flea products: Spot-ons and/or chews Advantage, Advantix Advantage Multi (Advocate in the UK) Frontline (ticks as well) Bravecto spot on (ticks as well) - for cats, Simparica, Nexgard Revolution (stronghold in the UK) Tablets: comfortis (will only kill fleas once) Collar: Seresto (ticks as well)

Cats are extremely sensitive to flea medication, and it sounds like Alula is having a toxic reaction from licking it. This is a medical emergency, and she needs to see a vet right away. Please take her into an ER vet now.

Hi there. Symptoms of permethrin poisoning (muscle tremors, seizures, etc.) are usually evident within a few hours of exposure. So if you used the fly spray last week and are not seeing any signs of a problem, there's probably no need to worry :)
