Common causes to cause contact allergies in cats could be associated with plastic food bowls and carpets. In addition to the allergies, they can also develop secondary local bacterial and yeast infections. Finally, it is important to rule out other causes such as mites and ring worm but that seems less likely in Woezel. You can wipe the area with skin sensitive baby wipes for the next 3-5 days and see if it resolves. If it does not, or if it gets worse, then Woezel should be evaluated by his veterinarian sooner. It's good that everything else is fine, but if this sneezing continues, I would take her into the vet. Take her into a vet right away if she stops eating, becomes very lethargic, and/or has problems breathing. There are a few things you can try at home for her. First, you can try starting her on an L-lysine supplement - this is an amino acid that has been shown to help the immune system fight off respiratory infections more effectively. Enisyl and Viralys are both good brands, and can be purchased over the counter without a prescription - just follow the dosing instructions on the label based on your cat's weight. If she's congested, you can also try using a humidifier or bringing her into the bathroom with the door closed while you take a hot shower - the steam and humidity help to break up congestion and temporarily relieve symptoms associated with respiratory infections. This could be any number of things such as a flare up of a herpes virus very common in cats, or he has as infection, possibly from a small scratch on his cornea, or even a bit on conjunctivitis. Wil should see his veterinarian to make sure there is nothing more serious with the eye, & usually, with the proper treatments & medications, eyes clear up very nicely. It really comes down to figuring out what is causing his allergies so that they can be treated or the specific allergen avoided. A secondary infection is likely and also needs to be addressed. If it is just allergies then this is not expected to be contagious. There are many things that can cause allergies though in most cases they can be broken down into 3 big categories: flea, food and environmental allergies. Allergies are usually worked up in a stepwise fashion starting with flea allergies as this is the easiest and cheapest to take care of. If not on a flea preventative, then it would be a good idea to get started on one. If already on one then it would be a good idea to change to something else (there are many new products out in the market). If not improved in 1-3 months then it is time to move on and check for food allergies by switching to a novel diet (new protein and new carbohydrate). If that does not seem to be the issue then you are left out having to check for environmental allergies which require blood and/or skin tests. Allergies can be very frustrating to deal with at first but so rewarding at the end when we are able to treat them effectively!

It could also be a new problem such as ringworm. Her veterinarian will ask more detailed questions regarding her diet, exposure to other cats and changes in her environment on the island.
