My cat has reddish discharge one week after spay. Is it normal?

It can be normal for vaginal discharge after a pyometra surgery. The uterus is removed above the cervix. If blood and infection is present in the vaginal cavity it will still be present and leak out the vulva . If it is a small amount and Lucy is recovering normal I would not be concerned. If she is not eating, being overly painful or large amount of discharge I would recommend having her re checked by your vet.

All in all, I think that Tokyo's incision looks perfectly normal for being about 10 days post-op. I can see that she's likely been licking the center part a bit more than she should have been since the tissue is still slightly red. However, it's still healing nicely. Since this area is a bit red, I would try to put an e-collar (cone) or baby onesie on Tokyo for the next few days to prevent her from licking at it. I am not sure what type of vaginal discharge you are discussing. If there is a little blood post spay that can be normal. Blood can leak into the vaginal region. This is normal a few days post spay. However if this last I would be concerned and he needs to go back to the vet. Sometimes anal glands can get impacted and infected.
