Hi there my cat is 2/3 and he had a tick on his neck just yesterday, he had been down for two weeks prior to this but my partner removed the tick and he seems to be back to his usual happy self however the tick that was on his neck has left a red mark that he won’t let us touch I just want to confirm that this is normal as I’m starting to become slightly worried. Kind regards Emily Cussans

Hi Emily! Secretions from the tick's feeding parts can cause skin reactions, such as raised areas, lumps and growths called granulomas. Keep an eye on it for now, and if it doesn't go away in few days or gets bigger, have Jensen seen by a vet. Best of luck.
