My cat has red/brown eye discharge. Is this an emergency vet visit?

I have just noticed my cat has a red/brown discharge coming from her eye I would like some advice on

Oh no, this isn't good! Nibs could have a severe eye infection or could has suffered trauma to her eye. The eye is such a delicate and important structure that any problem with it should be considered an emergency. That's because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. Nibs needs to see a vet now to have her eye examined and diagnosed so it can be treated. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.
