Pet's info: Cat | Ragdoll | Male | neutered | 1 year and 7 months old | 14.2 lbs
My 14.2 lb Ragdoll only has a bowel movement every other day. Is this ok. He is a year and a half old. He eats dry food at night and a half can of 3,oz. wet food in the day.

It sounds like Charlie may be constipated. I would recommend taking him to the veterinarian to check. If he is constipated he may need an enema and medication to make his stool soft. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

If Charlie is acting normally, no vomiting/normal appetite/normal energy/no straining, you can try adding a teaspoon or two of canned pumpkin to his food to increase the fiber which can aide in mild constipation. If however he develops other symptoms a trip to the vet is recommended. Provide him with plenty of water and sometimes a long walk may help move things along!
