What are the white moving things in my cat's poop and what to do?

It sounds like your cat(s) have tapeworms. Most commonly, these are contracted when your cat's are grooming themselves and swallow adult fleas. Typically, where there are tapeworms, there are or have been fleas. Tapeworms require specific dewormers and the safest ones are available through your veterinarian.

It sounds like Sasha has tapeworms. She will need a medication call Drontal to kill them, which you get from the vet. Tapeworms are transmitted by fleas, so you will need to treat her for fleas as well. Fleas live in the environment, not on the cat, so she could have fleas even if you don't see any. They jump on to feed, and then jump off. I can give you a flea treatment for her. First, I would give her Capstar. It's a one time pill that starts killing fleas within 30 minutes. Then follow up with a spot on treatment, such as Advantage or Revolution. This is a treatment that has to be used once a month. You will also have to disinfect the environment. Wash her bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house, such as Indorex, or a flea bomb would work well to kill the fleas in the home. I hope this helps!

The worms in the photo appear to be tapeworms or, less commonly, pinworms. these can cause impactions and diarrhea, especially in kittens. Unfortunately, I am unable to prescribe medication for Coco without having examined her. However, your veterinarian can quickly determine the exact type of parasites present with a fecal sample and prescribe the appropriate treatment. Because many parasites are transmitted by fleas, it is important for Coco to be on a monthly flea preventative. You should also be careful when cleaning out her litter box to make sure you wash your hands well with soap and water, as some of these parasites can infect humans. I hope all is well!

It could be Pants has intestinal worms such as tapeworms. You will need to take him into the vet to get this diagnosed and to get medication, as tapeworms require praziquantel to treat, which is prescription only from the vet. Best of luck.

These grain like little things could be tapeworm segments. It could be that Luna has tapeworms. I would take her into the vet. The vet can diagnose if she does have tapeworms, and can prescribe praziquantel to treat it. Praziquantel is a prescription only medication, which is why you need to take her into the vet. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If the worms you are seeing are small pieces of rice then they are likely tape worms. You need to purchase a dewormer than gets tape worms (drontal, droncit, cestex) and check her for fleas. Fleas are the intermediate host for tape worm. Also be sure that when you dewormed her before than you repeated the first dose 3-4 weeks later. There are some SPCAs that have low cost veterinary clinics. If the blood persists in her stool I recommend you have her seen. Blood indicates inflammation of the colon. Stop the diatomaceous earth. I hope this helps and good luck!

From the picture you provided, it does look like Plug has tapeworms. He will need to see a vet for this problem, as the medication needed to treat it (praziquantel) is available by prescription only. I'd take him into a vet tomorrow. Best of luck.
