Is it safe to give my cat Piriton or Puritan syrup with ethanol?

Jasmine is already getting predicare which is a strong anti-inflammatory drug and commonly used for treating allergies so I do not think piriton would add any beneficial effect. Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. A safe dose of Cetirizine is 2.5 - 5 mg per cat, so this is likely half a tablet. Please make sure that Cetirizine is the only medical ingredient in the tablet, and there are no other additives. Pseudoephedrine is very toxic for cats, if this is present in the tablet, go to your vet right away. If you have given 10mg, that is ok, she might just be sleepy. Best of luck with Panda.

It can be used as a long term solution for allergies, but only your vet can make the determination if that is safe for Purdie to take indefinitely. Without seeing her in person, I can't tell you to do this as it's illegal for me to say that. I recommend having her seen by your vet to discuss a safe and appropriate length of time to give her piriton. You can also discuss other medications used for dog allergies such as Apoquel, which is safe to give long term and extremely effective for allergies. I hope this helps!

In order to do legally so we would have to have a patient-veterinarian-owner relationship with you. Your veterinarian also knows your dog and the potential risks for your dog receiving this medication.

NO!! Methylated spirits are toxic to their skin and often times will "burn" them. Also, cats do not like weird smelling things on them and will often lick off anything you apply - in this case, the spirits would be toxic and could cause oral ulcerations. I'm not sure what exactly you want to disinfect on your cat but it is much better to use dilute betadine/iodine solution or chlorhexidine solution. I hope this answers your question. You should discuss this with the vet that prescribed it as well as any other changes to the signs and symptoms he originally presented with when he was first examined. It is always preferable, although not always possible to use veterinary licensed products and not human versions as they have been specifically formulated with pets in mind. It is impossible to know without a full post mortem examination why your cat passed away.

Sorry to hear that you are having this issue. Ringworm can be very difficult to erradicate. Using the sulfur based shampoo is fine but you will not see an immediate effect. It takes weeks and sometimes months to get rid of ringworm. Do not use ethanol. I have never heard of using that and it would likely burn her skin.
