Why is my cat not eating, vomiting, and having diarrhea for days?

My cat Minnu is not eating anything from 3-4 days and vometing and having loose motions..plz respond fast

A cat that has not eaten for 3+ days is at serious risk of developing liver related complications. This could compound any underlying condition. Itis important to have Minnu examined by your veterinarian today to diagnose and treat the cause. Supportive care (hospitalization, IV fluids, antibiotics, appetite stimulants, etc.) may be indicated until Minnu recovers and is eating regularly.

Please take her in for treatment to your veterinarian. Minnu can become dehydrated from vomiting and diarrhea. There are many things that can be upsetting her gastrointestinal system. In addition she may have a fever. The veterinarian will examine her and start treatment. They may recommend an X-ray to make sure she doesn't have a blockage and a blood panel to check her kidney and liver values in addition to anemia, infection and amount of dehydration. Then they can start fluids and medications for vomiting and diarrhea. There is nothing effective that you can do at home if this has been going on for several days. My cat is lethargic, not eating or drinking for 3 days. What to do?

Your cat really needs to be seen by a veterinarian for proper diagnosis and treatment. She is likely dehydrated from not eating or drinking well and will require subcutaneous or intravenous fluids. Because she hasn't been eating, she is also at risk of developing a condition called hepatic lipodosis. This disease is the most common cause of metabolic liver failure. At home encourage your cat to eat by offering highly palatable food, such as fish-flavored canned cat food or Stage 1 strained chicken or turkey baby food (no onions or garlic). If necessary, gently open her mouth and place a small amount of moist food on her tongue. Watch to see if she swallows it. If she does, place a couple more dollops of food on her tongue, then encourage her to eat a bit on her own.

Aw poor Simba! I'm sorry to hear he's sick! It would be a good idea to have him checked out by a veterinarian to ensure he does not have an intestinal obstruction, infection, or other cause of vomiting and decreased appetite. He may need injections to stop his vomitng and fluids to rehydrate him. I'm concerned that 4 days of not eating can cause serious illness in a cat so the sooner he sees a veterinarian the better. My kitten has diarrhea, is sick, and hasn't eaten. Is it an emergency?

It's now a medical emergency that Bunty hasn't eaten in 18 hours. If she goes much longer without eating, she will develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. She is quite sick and cannot be treated at home. Please take her into a vet immediately. Best of luck.

Missy has to see a vet as soon as possible. When a cat doesn't eat for three days, they develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. She needs to see a vet now to prevent that from happening. In a senior cat like Missy, her anorexia could be caused by kidney failure, cancer, diabetes, and liver failure among other causes. It's also serious that she hasn't used the litter box in two days. She needs a physical exam, geriatric blood panel, and urinalysis to diagnose what is causing her symptoms so she can be treated.

My cat is vomiting, diarrhea, not eating, and lethargic. What to do?

Acute vomiting and diarrhea, especially with poor appetite and lethargy, are certainly cause for concern. This could be caused by an infection, something stuck in Max's intestines, or a metabolic problem. At the veterinarian, they will examine him and probably take x-rays and run some lab work to look for the underlying cause of Max's issues. I wouldn't wait very long to go to the vet since Max is so young and small and so can become dehydrated quickly. See if you can get in for an exam today.
