My cat can't jump, won't eat, and is losing weight. What's wrong?

My cat has lost its ability to jump it has to pull its self up and has a loss of appetite and has lost weight really quick and it is scarying me what do you think is happening?

Sara has probably lost her ability to jump because of muscle wasting, due to the sudden weight loss. many diseases can cause sudden weight loss- cancer, kidney failure, foreign body in the GI- you must take her to the vet urgently in order to have this condition diagnosed and hopefully it can be treated.

I hate to hear that about Paige. Common reasons for this type of description are kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, inflammatory bowel disease or less common would be cancer. Paige should see her veterinarian sooner rather than later. With any of these conditions, treating it earlier can slow progression and the prognosis is better. The doctor will need to run some blood work to start figuring out what is going on. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.

I strongly recommend a vet visit for Sam with possibly booodwork. Weight loss and weakness is not a normal symptom of old age. His not wanting to eat and weight loss indicates that he has something else going on. In older cats kidney disease, heart disease or metabolic/endocrine diseases can be common. With treatment Once you have an accurate diagnosis as to why Sam isn't feeling well then you can tailor diet and care to make his golden years as comfortable as possible. Why is my cat losing weight, not eating, and has a bald patch?

IF she isn't eating properly and losing weight, there is definitely something wrong with her, if she eats the wet food with great appetite, then the dry food must be the issue and that could be either due to a teeth disease or a partial GI blockage. either way you need to take her to the vet ASAP, she will need to be checked, especially her mouth, if nothing unusual is found during the physical examination the next step will be a blood test to try and find out what is wrong.

I am very sorry to hear about Evie! There are many different conditions which can cause these symptoms in cats. Some of these would include diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, infections, intestinal cancer or other cancers, and more. Without doing an examination and getting more detailed history, we cannot give a more precise answer. I would highly recommend getting Evie to the vet as soon as possible. I'm sorry to hear that Nanking has not been feeling well. A sudden loss of appetite with noticeable weight loss are quite concerning and could be due to a wide variety of conditions, including hyperthyroidism, kidney disease, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, among others. Parasites seem less likely for such a sudden change, but are certainly possible as well. Your best bet is to take Nanking to the vet for an exam and diagnostic testing so that the cause of her issues can be determined, as this will provide a more accurate prognosis for her condition. Sudden weight loss is always a very big warning light that should not be taken lightly, it's usually a sign of an internal disease that needs to be investigated, i strongly recommend taking him to the vet in order to get it checked, he will need to have a blood test done and possibly an xray as well in order to attempt to diagnose the reason for these symptoms.
