Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Male | neutered | 30 lbs
My adult cat is not himself at all today and I can tell that he is feeling badly. Since this morning he has been smacking his lips, has not eaten and is hiding. He acts like he wants to throw up but within a millisecond will stop any effort. I did notice a couple of days ago he was straining to meow. Today he has refused treats and dry food. Is this something that will pass? Would Pepcid help? Do you feel I need to take him to the emergency vet?

This is a medical emergency, and he has to see a vet now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.
