My cat isn't eating, drinking, is warm & sluggish. Should I see a vet?

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Acting slow or 'off' is a sign of an animal not feeling well in general. This can happen due to many different causes including fevers, pain, stress, dehydration, and many other causes. If he is just a little bit off and still eating, you can try waiting a day or two, because if this is just a small virus it will pass. If he stops eating, is vomiting, seems sore, or isn't improving, or becoming more dull, then I would get him to a vet right away. Also, if there is ANY possibility he got into any rat-bait I would get him seen immediately. Best of luck with Half And Half, I hope he feels better soon!

Based on your description, I am quite concerned she may be dehydrated and may have some systemic disease or infection going on. Hi there and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Bobo's symptoms do sound concerning. There can be many medical causes for decreased appetite, decreased thirst and lethargy. There is really nothing that can be done for at home for this without getting a diagnosis first from Bobo's veterinarian. I would recommend he see his veterinarian asap for an exam and evaluation. He may need blood work, x-rays, or other diagnostics as needed. I hope this helps!

Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Hello, thank you for your question about BooBoo. Based on the symptoms that you are describing it is possible that BooBoo may be experiencing some mild GI upset secondary to ingesting something outside or due to another underlying cause. Since BooBoo's signs are still fairly mild and he is eating some food you could continue to monitor him for the next 24-26 hours for signs of improvement. It would also be reasonable to offer him a bland diet to help settle his stomach such as a canned food or boiled chicken/hamburger and rice (if he will eat this). Alternatively you could have BooBoo seen by your veterinarian so that they can perform an examination to evaluate for any concerns. Depending on the results of their examine they may recommend additional diagnostics (such as bloodwork or x-rays) or may recommend supportive therapies. Hope this helps, good luck!

There are many possible causes: fever, infections, ate something that upset his tummy, or not being able to pee. You didn't say how old he is but metabolic problems like kidney disease or diabetes is also possible. If his symptoms continue then have your Vet look at him tomorrow. If he isn't urinating/straining to urinate then have him seen ASAP. I wish you the best and hope Thomas feels better soon!
