My cat is sick, not drinking or eating after vet. How to help?

Place an e-collar (cone) on Kiki to prevent further scratching or rubbing. Minor bleeding can be stopped using a bit of styptic powder or plain cornstarch and gentle pressure. Keep the area clean and dry. Warm his food slightly or mix in a teaspoon of baby food to stimulate his appetite. It is vital that he begins eating again. Cats who do not eat for 2+ days are at high risk of developing serious liver related complications. If his anorexia persists, he will need to be rechecked by your veterinarian as soon as possible. If you see very dark urine or a yellow tinge to his skin, gums, or whites of his eyes, then have him examined immediately.

It's now a medical emergency that Rex won't eat. He's approaching the point where he will develop a fatty liver from not eating, and a fatty liver is fatal without treatment. He sounds quite sick and this cannot be treated at home. Please take him into a vet immediately.

Lack of appetite, loss of energy, and possible fever can be caused by many conditions including infections, foreign bodies, certain cancers, urinary blockage and others. I recommend having Bell seen by a vet to determine what is going on and receive appropriate treatment. Your vet will begin with a physical exam and likely recommend further diagnostics such as bloodwork and X-rays if needed. Cats who don’t eat can get very sick over several days because of abnormal fat metabolism by their liver, so it is very important to have Bell seen as soon as possible. I hope all is well!

I suggest you take her back to the vet for more testing - like bloodwork. I would be very worried that she may have a pyometra (uterine infection) if she is not spayed. It is probably unrelated to her licking the glue.

If he was recently at the vet for vomiting, and now is not eating or drinking anything, he should be seen again as this would make me concerned about the possibility of a foreign body, or pancreatitis, which would require additional therapy. If your vet didn't do x-rays or bloodwork at the previous appointment it's time to make sure there's nothing more serious going on. Poor kitty! I totally understand your concerns here, as I too am deeply concerned about this cats current condition. These symptoms suggest this cat may have a severe urinary tract infection or even a bleeding abnormality, if you are seeing blood coming from the vaginal area. A uterine infection (pyometra) is also possible here which can be life threatening if not treated medically. This cat needs to be taken to a vet hospital right away for treatment, because this is beyond what you can do for this kitty at home. They need to run some diagnostics on this cat, which will likely be bloodwork +/- abdominal radiographs and likely a urine test if a bladder infection is suspected after a complete physical exam is done. Please take kitty in to your local vet right away for further care before her condition gets any worse. If you can't get her in right away then offer kitty some low sodium chicken or beef broth and small amounts of non-flavored Pedialyte diluted with water using a syringe or small turkey baster.
