Does my cat need an e-collar after neuter to stop licking the wound?

i have just neutrated my car but vet didn't give E collar said no need .İs it true ? İ read that they shouldn't lick their wound. Thanks for previous question :)

If you see your cat licking the surgical site, then he should wear an e-collar. It can be difficult to get one on cat that can prevent him from licking completely, so you may have to get a really large one.

    My opinion is the same as your vet, i do not discharge cats with an e-collar after a neutering surgery, it is not necessary. i have very rarely seen any complications post surgery with cat neutering.
