Most urinary tract "infections" in non-geriatric cats are not caused by bacteria but inflammation caused by stress. This is called Feline Idiopathic Cystitis, and that could be causing Kahlo's symptoms. Have her seen by a vet for this.

I would be concerned she may have cystitis - painful inflammation of the bladder (or possibly colitis or constipation of the bowel). This is an extremely distressing and uncomfortable condition and should be assessed and treated by your vet as soon as possible. A stressful event can allow for cystitis and potentially this could allow a further bacterial infection to develop. I hate to hear Echo is having these issues! If Callie is a young cat and isn't spayed, she may be in heat - if so, it's normal for her to be meowing constantly, rolling around, and posturing with her rear end in the air. If her behavior is caused by being in heat, spaying will resolve the problem. If she's an older kitty or if she is already spayed, then I would be concerned that she may have a urinary problem of some kind such as FIC (feline idiopathic cystitis), bladder stones, or a urinary tract infection. In that case, I would recommend taking her to the vet for an exam and urinalysis. Your veterinarian can get her started on appropriate treatment for the problem depending on what is found.

I'm sorry to hear about what is happening. In terms of your cat, felines definitely can have a physiologic response to stress resulting in what you are seeing. The one thing that you would definitely want to be sure about is whether or not Shadow is refusing to urinate or is unable to urinate. One is obviously an emergency while the other is a waiting game. If she has refused to urinate for any more than a day, I would start to be somewhat concerned. I would be much more concerned if you start to see any straining in the litterbox or indications of pain / discomfort. This condition is something we are more likely to diagnose in male cats, but can occur less frequently in females. I think keeping her somewhere quiet for now is great provided she has free access to water and a litterbox. I would also make sure you are checking frequently for any changed in urination status or Shadow's behavior / demeanor. I would recommend having Paws examined by a vet. Sometimes cats will start to feel sluggish and uncomfortable in the litter box if they have a UTI, bladder stones, some inflammatory conditions, or constipation. Since you aren't seeing much in the box, it is hard to determine which is the case, but a vet should be able to figure it out on physical exam.
