My cat won't stop meowing for food. How do I manage her hunger?

I would recommend getting a ball that dispenses treats or a different treat dispenser. I would put Malsey's meals in this and then let her work for her food. Then you can give her the wet food as a treat. That way she has all day to work for it and maybe it will stop the meowing for food since there will probably still be more in the dispesnser. It is more likely she is bored rather than hungry. You should do some environmental enrichment for her and I would also suggest you get an automatic feeder that will dispense food every few hours (her daily amount broken up into multiple smaller feedings through the day). :D She is training you to get more food! Lots of cats have no hunger off switch and they will eat until they are utterly stuffed. Depending on her weight and the particular food, two cans per day may be the recommended feeding amount, and any more than that could cause obesity.

Greebo is probably just hungry. Even if he wasn’t overfed before he may be feeling the effects of dieting. Make sure he is being fed twice daily. You can also add water to his food in order to bulk it up. One thing that may be extra helpful would be to get interactive toys that dispense food as he plays with them. This will give him exercise as well as a treat reward for playing. You can use his diet food as the treats in the toys. This will keep him entertained as well as give him small bits of food as he plays.

How frustrating! Unfortunately this is a common complaint. Cats are notorious for training their people to do all sorts of crazy things when it comes to their food. Right now Albert is requesting food early in the morning and you (reasonably) give him food/attention to quiet him, so he learns that meowing at ungodly hours is a successful strategy and keeps on doing it. What you need to do is change that dynamic. A couple ideas: 1) Ignore Albert until a certain time in the morning that you find acceptable. This is very hard at first and you'll sleep less, but he should get the idea after several days to a week. You must truly ignore him -- no positive or negative responses to his attempts to interact. 2) Switch to an automatic feeder that dispenses a set amount of food at certain intervals and then ignore all Albert's request for you to feed him. He'll learn bugging you doesn't results in food. You'll still need to ignore him in the early morning until he learns you're not available 3) Make sure you're giving him lots of attention and environmental enrichment during the day. If he's on a weight loss diet prescribed by your vet, then it may be that he just isn't used to getting "less" food. Feeding a higher fiber diet (most weight-loss diets add fiber) can help him feel fuller on less food, which can help with his being hungry on fewer calories. If the problem continues, ruling out any issues such as metabolic problems is also a good idea to make sure there isn't an underlying cause with it. You may also want to spread out his meals to several more throughout the day, instead of just 1-2 large meals, so that he feels like he is getting "more" over a longer period of time.

Wet food has a higher moisture content, so it takes more of it to get the needed calories to feed your cat. It may be that Simba isn't getting enough food, and that's why he's always hungry. I would feed him dry food only according to the package instructions on his food bag and see if that helps satisfy his hunger.
