My cat is losing fur and has an irritated patch. Does she need a vet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 3 years and 1 month old | 9 lbs

Do I need to take my cat to see our vet? Her fur mowing resulted in this irritated-looking patch and I am worried about her.

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Georgia. Oh my, this looks quite irritated. Yes, I do think she needs to see a vet for this, as this does need veterinary treatment. Give her vet a call now to make her an appointment. Best of luck.
