My cat licked mkat residue. Is it an emergency? What should I do?

Hair removal cream can cause burns to the mouth, esophagus, and stomach. Because Bhaku licked some off, I would take him into the vet now. The vet can examine his mouth for signs of burns, and will likely prescribe him some medication to coat his stomach (a gut protectant) to prevent damage to his stomach. It's best he's seen by a vet now, so I would take him in right away.

Just keep an eye on her. She would need to eat a lot of the product to get sick. You may want to give some wet food with added water to get the product to pass through more quickly. I would expect some drooling as the only side effect. Do monitor her though and should you see any medical problems such as tremors or vomiting and diarrhea then I would take her in. However, these ingredients are toxic in larger amounts, and it does not seem like you used much of the salsa in your queso. It contains menthol, which should be harmless, but it also contains salicylates, which are essentially the same as aspirin. This is potentially harmful to a cat, especially their GI tract and kidneys. Unfortunately I don't have any information about dosage - how much is definitely dangerous. I would contact an emergency clinic in your area, who can contact the Animal Poison Control line run by the ASPCA - they will hopefully have some information about previous Icy Hot ingestions in cats and they should be able to guide you.
