My cat licked hair remover. Is it dangerous? What should I do?

It sounds like your cat has some chemical burns on his tongue, and I would be concerned he also have chemical burns on his esophagus. He needs to see a vet as soon as possible to have this treated, as he's not eating. Cats who won't eat or drink require a temporary feeding tube. Leaving him without eating and drinking will be fatal, and cats develop a fatty liver (which is also fatal without treatment) when they don't eat for longer than 72 hours. Because most chemical burns take up to two weeks to heal, he cannot be left without treatment. You need to take the trip to the nearest vet as soon as possible. Best of luck.

I would have Sassy seen by a vet immediately. Mkat is mephedrone, which causes overstimulation of the heart, circulation, and nervous system. Ingesting this drug could have extremely serious effects on her, please take her into a vet ASAP.

It contains menthol, which should be harmless, but it also contains salicylates, which are essentially the same as aspirin. This is potentially harmful to a cat, especially their GI tract and kidneys. Unfortunately I don't have any information about dosage - how much is definitely dangerous. I would contact an emergency clinic in your area, who can contact the Animal Poison Control line run by the ASPCA - they will hopefully have some information about previous Icy Hot ingestions in cats and they should be able to guide you.

I am sorry to hear about your concern for your kitty! Ingesting a small amount of shampoo (provided it isnt' a medicated kind) would not be likely to cause any poisoning/toxicity in your kitty, but could cause some stomach upset. I would just recommend monitoring her appetite and energy level and watching for vomiting. If you notice changes in these then a visit to your vet is recommended.

Unless she ate a large amount of it (1 tablespoon or more), she should be fine. You can call the poison control hotline ( http://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/ ) to confirm as they will have the most up to date information if it would help you.
