Why is my cat lethargic with a bloody bald spot and dull fur?

Poor cat! If the wound is growing in size, it's time to go to your vet. Problems such as allergies to parasite bites, fungal infections such as ringworm, infections of the skin, abscesses/sores etc can all be potential causes which is why a vet visit is needed to determine the cause, provide treatment such as pain meds and antibiotics, etc. Until you can get to your vet, keeping the area clean and dry may help as well as preventing your cat from licking, but if he is acting ill and hiding away he is likely already painful or worsening so needs care.

This spot on Snowball could be from an injury, or it could be due to allergies, fleas, or a ringworm lesion. I would have him seen by a vet for this. The vet can examine the spot, and do blood tests, use a flea comb, and a Wood's lamp to diagnose what caused the spot. Once the cause of the spot is diagnosed, the vet can prescribe an appropriate treatment.

What you're describing sounds more likely to be a skin problem of some kind (allergies, etc.) vs. an actual wound or something more serious, although of course it's always hard to say without being able to see her in person. It does sound like this is something that should be seen by a vet, since skin issues in cats that are severe enough to cause hair loss and raw spots will virtually always need prescription meds to treat effectively. But if she's acting normal otherwise (eating and drinking, relatively active, no other obvious symptoms), then I wouldn't consider it to be an emergency. It should be okay to call your regular vet's office and get an appointment scheduled for her when you're able to, hopefully within the next week or two. :)

Poor Rosie! It definitely sounds like something is bothering her. Yes, I do think this is something that should be checked out by your veterinarian. She may have sections of hair that have become matted and are causing pain, or may have a skin condition underneath the "bumpy" sections of hair that is causing it to feel this way. Your veterinarian can examine her skin to see what's going on and see what kind of treatment is needed.

I'm not sure how old your kitty is or if she is spayed or not; however, if she is acting more lethargic than normal and losing weight, then she may have thyroid disease. It is best to get her checked by your veterinarian and tested. The red spot on her fur is hard to pinpoint the cause of this. It appears to only be the haircoat, so let the vet take a closer look at this and the skin to determine what this could be. Most cats are very independent, and only require little affection from people, so don't feel too bad about not being around all the time. It looks like Roxy has a small area of a skin infection. I recommend bringing her to a veterinarian. Here they can dispense antibiotics and potentially medication to help her stop licking or scratching (if she is). Those black spots could be flea dirt or areas of yeast as well. The bald spots could be from skin irritation, self trauma from itching or even another infection called ringworm. The lethargy is concerning as usually Advantage does not cause that change. However fleas can cause anemia even in adult cats as well as transmit bacterial infections that can make a cat very sick. If Mama remains lethargic she needs to get checked out by a veterinarian, sooner if her gums are pale or discolored.
