Why is my cat not eating, losing weight, lethargic, with yellow eyes?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Prince! From your pictures his eyes are a bit more dilated than normal. I am worried about your description of his symptoms. Has he been urinating? How old is he? It is possible that the old treats have caused an upset stop but it is probably a bit unlikely. I highly recommend having him seen today when your Vet opens, especially if you haven't seen him urinate since he started getting sick. Not being able to urinate for male cats is an emergency. Other possibilities are: viral or bacterial infection, toxin ingestion or he ate something causing a blockage. If he is old I would worry about kidney or liver disease and cancer. I recommend taking Ebony in for a veterinary exam. if he is loosing weight and continuing to vomit then something more than parasites is likely the cause. Anything from toxin ingestion, pancreatitis, lymphoma, inflammatory bowel disease or a GI blockage could cause the signs you describe. After a good physcial exam the vet may recommend diagnostic testing to see what is causing Ebony's illness. I hope Ebony is better soon.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Toots! I would bring a stool sample and have Toots examined by your Vet. I would recommend full blood work including Feline Leukemia and FIV. If that is normal then I would consider maldigeetion and malabsorption blood work (tests B12, folate and 2 pancreatic enzymes and consider an ultrasound of his belly to rule in or out underlying intestinal disease like inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or small cell lymphoma. Most IBD cats are treated with a prescription diet and anti-inflammatories. Since he is getting worse I recommend starting a work up. I wish you and Toots the best!

Poor Mickey! It definitely sounds like he is feeling terrible. Just like people, there are many conditions that can make pets feel sick. This could range from parasites to cancer. Also like us, diseases are best addressed early and this may result in a better prognosis. I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian today. The doctor will need to learn the underlying cause in order to give appropriate treatment. Bring in a stool sample in case the doctor needs to test it. The doctor will likely want to check the thyroid, kidney and blood sugar levels to looks for evidence of renal disease, hyperthyroidism or diabetes since these three conditions will all cause weight loss. A physical exam is the only way to start narrowing down the causes. I hope Mickey starts feeling better quickly! Please feel free to post any additional questions!

Loss of appetite and lethargy can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Gimli evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Oh dear! Poor Prince. I'm afraid these are very concerning symptoms. This does sound like a life-threatening problem, so I would recommend taking him to an emergency vet tonight to be seen. If this isn't possible, then he needs to see your regular veterinarian first thing in the morning. He will likely need blood work and x-rays to help diagnose the problem and see what can be done to help.

Hi. What a beautiful cat!! Sounds like he is pretty sick. The weight loss is the most concerning, I would get him to the ER this evening to be checked out and have some lab work and x-rays done.
