Why is my cat suddenly lethargic, sensitive, and hissing when touched?

Oh my. Ginger could have a lower back injury or even an issue with his prostate. You really need to have him examined by your vet now so that they can palpate his lower back and belly to try and determine the underlying cause here. X-rays may also be needed to make a final diagnosis. The vet can then prescribe pain medication for Ginger to help him get more comfortable. Lethargy can be a sign of many different diseases. I am not sure of his age but he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. He could have an infection, musculoskeletal issue, kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, thyroid issue, etc. Your vet can run some lab-work and take x-rays, if needed, to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat. He may need an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, or other medications, depending on the cause. Hope he feels better soon!

Hello Anisa! Limping means he is in pain, and pain could make him lethargic as well. Unfortunately there are no OTC pain medications you can give him, as many human ones are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. I think you should take him into the vet first thing in the morning. The vet can diagnose why he is in pain, and can treat him. I hope this helps!

It's hard to know exactly what could be going on. She may have gotten hypothermic, she may have had a seizure, she may have been feeling bad before going outside and been looking for somewhere quiet. Regardless, since she's vomited a few times and has been lethargic for 10 hours, I would consider taking her to an emergency room for evaluation tonight. She may benefit from some pain medication in case she is uncomfortable after her shots. If she experiences vomiting after her vaccines, this is a sign of a reaction. Hi, Sweet Ginger is looking quite sleepy in the pic. Signs you could still see as a reaction to the cat vaccine are : lethargy (already showing), fever, loss of appetite, vomiting ,diarrhea, Swelling (a lump) and/ redness around the injection site. These signs are short lived around 24-48 hours post vaccination. If you do notice a small lump at the site of the injection that can appears also several days after just monitor it should reduce and disappear in the next few weeks. Hope this helps

This sounds like a side effect of the vaccine, it's not super common but i'v seen a few cases already and this usually resolves within 48-72 hours. your vet could give her pain killers for a couple days if her condition seems to be really bad.
