Why is my cat lethargic with a painful, growing lump on her jaw?

I hate to hear that Leo is uncomfortable. I would think this is likely an infection, either of the skin or the tooth itself. Less likely would be a cancer. I would recommend to take him in to see the veterinarian who may be able to tell the difference based on a physical exam and can provide appropriate medication and pain relief. Poor Jinx! This could be a few different things like a tooth root abscess, an abscess from a bite wound, or a benign or cancerous growth. Since it is growing so rapidly, I would strongly recommend to have your vet look at it soon. I'm wondering if these round lumps you are feeling are Cal's lymph nodes. Those become enlarged in response to infection, and she could have a dental problem causing them to be enlarged. A dental problem would also lead her to paw at her mouth when eating. I would have her seen by a vet for these problem. The vet can diagnose what is causing it and how best to treat it. If she does have a dental problem, she may benefit from a dental cleaning, scaling, and polishing. As for her litter mate with a single lump in the same area, I would have him examined by a vet as well for it.

A swollen jaw can indicate infection, a foreign body stuck in the jaw, or a mass/ growth in the area, all of which can be extremely painful and require treatment by a veterinarian. Hello, sorry to hear about Nathan. If he has a bump on his abdomen and has a fever, then she may need to be seen on emergency basis. That bump can indicate an abscess or a tumor both of which can cause a fever. Based on your cats age I think its more likely to be an abscess. Other causes of this include things such as FIP, FeLV or FIV as well as mouth infections. It is concerning that is has kept on swelling for the past three days, and now is the time to take him into the vet.
