My cat jumped, lost leg control, has back pain. Is her back broken?

If you suspect a broken leg then I suggest you get her to a vet as soon as possible. A broken leg would be very painful and I'm sure if you had a broken leg you want to go to a doctor! Remember, not all injuries can be seen externally. She could have some internal injuries that you cannot see. Over the internet this is all I can offer you. Without examining her myself and/or taking an x-ray of her leg I cannot tell you what to do other than to get to a vet. Best wishes.

He may have injured himself jumping down and should be seen by your vet right away with those symptoms. He may have pinched a nerve or fractured something, though not being painful makes this less likely. The only way to know for sure is to get him seen by your vet or at an emergency clinic right away. Your vet will do an exam and x-rays, possibly other imaging or diagnostics as their findings call for. Based on these results, they will be better able to tell you what is going on and how best to treat it.

Hello. It is very likely that Chloe experience a small vertebral or pelvic fracture at this time, or even suffered a little nerve damage. Most of the time we do not recommend very much treatment other than a short course of anti-inflammatory medication & rest/confinement. Since she is still showing some symptom, it is possible she is still in a little pain, so it is best to try to curtail her jumping. We do have to be careful with any pain medications in cats, but a trial with some of the available ones would show if there is something that we may be able to do for her. X-rays may show something & you can certainly opt to do more advanced imaging such as a MRI, but it does seem as if there was some damage done back in January. If the leg is injured and Farra can't use it, it's best to bring her to a vet. Falling can cause an injury such as a sprain or break that requires veterinary care in order to treat it, along with pain meds or other medications to help Farra feel better. If she is crying, she is likely in bad pain. Keeping her calm, quiet and not moving around much can help until you can get to your vet, but care ASAP is best.

From there, pain medication will be prescribed to help her feel better. In the meantime, do not give any over-the-counter pain medications as these can be toxic to cats. Please have Loka seen by a vet immediately. She is likely in a lot of pain, and may have serious internal injuries as well if she was hit by a car. There are indeed treatments your vet can provide to help keep her comfortable. Pain medications meant for humans can be very dangerous (and even deadly) for cats, so I do not recommend giving any to Loka without consulting with your vet.
