My IBS cat threw up, now drooling and agitated. What should I do?

This probably just means that her IBD is no longer being controlled on the current medications and she just needs further management of her condition. I highly recommend that you have reevaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment. At the very least they can make sure to treat her symptoms so that you can get her to feel better. They can also add medications to try to get her condition under control again. Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that Mercedes is sick. If IBD or GI lymphoma is suspected the next steps may be ultrasound or even biopsy. Biopsy is needed to confirm the diagnosis of IBD. However, I will frequently treat if it is strongly suspected on ultrasound. If IBD is confirmed it's worth doing a trial of a prescription GI diet. Although a/d is a good recovery diet it is probably not the best one to use as a maintenance diet if IBD is suspected. It would also be worth giving your veterinarian a call to see if they can give a Cerenia injection. This will help to resolve the vomiting and can be continued if necessary. Vitamin B12 injections can also be helpful when a cat is experiencing GI distress and will be needed if IBD is confirmed. I'm sorry to hear of Ma'ats vomiting. It is good she is receiving treatment for her IBS. I would discuss with your vet about the possibility of a daily medication for the vomiting. There are a number of options available that may be beneficial. You could also consider offering her several small meals through the day to ensure she isnt overeating all at once.

Common causes of vomiting in cats includes hairballs, food allergy, eating too fast, GI blockage, intestinal parasites, IBD, intestinal lymphoma, hyperthyroidism, systemic disease (liver, kidney, pancreas, diabetes), among others. You can remove her food and wait 6-12 hours to see if the vomiting stops. Then only give her small amounts of her food. If the vomiting continues tomorrow, Mochi should get checked out by her vet.

I don't see an age in Izzy's profile; if she's young, I would worry more about a problem with her stomach or intestines, such as if she ate something that upset her tummy, or more seriously if she had foreign material stuck in her GI tract. If she's an older kitty, I would worry about a possible organ problem, such as kidney disease or diabetes. However, all of these problems could affect any age. If she was acting pretty normal, I'd suggest you could wait 24 hours and see if it self-resolves - but if she's also lethargic, then I recommend having her seen by your vet as soon as possible in case it's something serious. Be very careful when you get her in the carrier - her growling is telling you that she's feeling crummy enough that she wants to be left alone, and if she's prone to nipping she might try to do so when you pick her up. I'm sorry to hear that Bo is feeling so poorly. A foreign body intestinal and/or stomach obstruction will cause vomiting and nausea (drooling is a sign of nausea), a loss of appetite and lethargy. Foreign body obstructions require surgery and supportive fluids and medications for treatment. Without surgical removal of the foreign material, the intestinal wall will become severely diseased and perforate, causing intestinal contents to leak into the abdomen, causing severe infection (sepsis) which is life-threatening. Since Bo is doing so poorly, I strongly recommend taking him to the emergency vet immediately for evaluation and likely surgery. Do not give additional enemas or squeeze his bladder without direct veterinary guidance. Some over the counter enemas (such as Fleet enemas) are toxic for cats. Squeezing his bladder could also cause an intestinal perforation if the intestines are diseased from the foreign material. I hope that all goes well.
