Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Female | spayed | 16 years and 10 months old | 8 lbs
My cat has developed a large abscess on the right side of her head. We are unable to take her to a vet at the moment. A few weeks ago she scratched the abscess open and we were able to drain it of pus and clean it a bit, it decreased in size significantly. Since then it has grown again and im wondering, should I try to lance, clean, and drain the abscess myself, or is that pointless without treating the underlying condition? If so, what is the best method? What else can I do?
