What is this hard bump on my cat's jawline? Is it a bone spur?

I suspect this might be what is called a "resorptive lesion." There is a tiny tooth right there, and for some cats, they develop lesions where the body actually breaks down their teeth over time. They can be painful. For some cats, they don't show any signs. Have him evaluated by your vet; they may recommend a sedated dental exam and dental xrays to evaluate the tooth roots. If roots are left under the surface, its potentially a source of infection and pain, and surgical removal of the root may be considered. Other possible causes of the bump would be inflammation, infection, (unlikely based on appearance), or an abnormal grownth/tumor. Get him in to your vet when you can to have it checked out. It's hard to tell the size but it looks like it may be a benign wart or growth. It appears to be more on the surface of the skin which is good, and it is well defined. Cats do get malignant skin growths so it is a good idea to have your veterinarian examine it and feel underneath also. They can easily remove this if necessary and do a biopsy. Hello. That is curious looking. Is it hard like bone of fleshy? The problem is that we really cannot discuss this in this format. If you were my client, I would definitely like to explore it a bit by probing with a pair of forceps, so the best thing to do here is take Meeyao in to your vet. It could just be a piece of bone that lodged behind the tooth, but if not, you just do not want to go yanking things out. I hope you can have this looked after soon. It's very hard to judge from a picture, it could be an infection but at her age a tumor would not be surprising. this sore needs to be checked and analysed as there are many conditions and types of tumors that could look like that. take Kitty to the vet, they will perform a fine needle aspiration on the growth and send it to the lab for analysis. when the result comes, the vet will advise what needs to be done according to the diagnosis.

This may be an abscess, a cyst or a tumor. You should have it examined by your veterinarian, as it is not possible to distinguish these by just looking at a photo. An abscess can usually be treated with antibiotics and/or be lanced, and a cyst can be evacuated. To identify a tumor, your vet may want to do a fine needle aspirate (he takes some material from the bump with a needle and then looks at it under the microscope) to determine whether the mass is concerning.

Hi. Butterscotch is a cutie. It is hard to say what lumps are without a full exam and a sample of the cells. In these photos, Ican't tell you what they are. I would recommend that you schedule an appointment with your veterinarian. It could be something completely benign. It could be an area swollen from her hitting her chin on something or it could be an infection / pimple (acne).
