Is gabapentin safe for my cat's eye pain, and what's the right dose?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Bengal | Male | unneutered | 4 years old | 7 lbs

Would gabapentin help with Sammie's eye pain? I've read that it's ok in small doses. Is it?

Gabapentin would help with eye pain. The dose would be so low for a cat that your vet may need to prescribe a compounded liquid version of it as the human capsules would contain way too much. I definitely recommend consulting with your veterinarian about it! Good luck!
